When you give to The Center you’re giving back to the community! Join us for BIG GIVE SAN ANTONIO starting at midnight tonight through midnight tomorrow and let’s empower our community together!
As a 100% volunteer led organization 100% of your donation goes towards programming, services, and our ultimate goal of opening a walk-in center in 2017! Your donation goes to:
Safe Zone Training
The Center’s Safe Zone Training aims to increase the awareness, knowledge, and skills for individuals and address the challenges that exist when one wants to advocate for their LGBTQ peers, family members, friends, coworkers, students and for themselves. In 2016, The Center trained over 2000 individuals on how they can be an ally. This includes San Antonio Police Department, area nonprofits, school counselors, healthcare workers, youth workers and community members.
San Antonio has one of the largest populations of LGBTQ parents in the United States. PRIDE FAMILIES is a social and support group for LGBTQ+ parents, their children, and allies. Parents and family have the opportunity to form support systems and friends while their children interact with families that look just like theirs. PRIDE Families provides a safe space for fun and fellowship. Join us for our annual Easter Celebration, Fall Family Festival & Trunk-or-Treat, or our many other gatherings throughout the year.
Peer Support Groups
The Center hosts several monthly support groups. Support groups are a combination of community led and Center led initiatives aimed at offering resources to our LGBTQ+ community. It is our goal to expand these groups and create others once we have a dedicated walk-in center.
A peer support group for transgender youth and their parents who can comfort each other with encouragement, love, and advice. The group meets the first and third Monday of each month.
Trans Men Group
A peer support group for trans men and those in question of transitioning from female to male. Meetings are on the third Wednesday of each month.
A peer social support group for anyone who identifies within the LGBTQ+ spectrum. The group meets on the fourth Thursday of each month.
The Center in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas launched a brand new, first of its kind in the nation, site-based mentoring group for LGBTQ youth in December 2015. The unique program will assist some of the most vulnerable and at-risk youth by partnering them with LGBTQ affirming role models. Program mentors will be comprised of people who lead and live successful and “Out” and “Proud” LGBTQ lives within our communities.
On May 4th, every donation you give will go a long way to helping us increase the programming that we offer to the community. In addition it will help support the opening of a staffed walk-in center in 2017.
In order to reach our goal of $5,000 we need you to help us with these three things:
1.) Mark tomorrow May 4th on your calendar and add this giving link:
3.) Help spread the excitement!
Tell your friends and family why you think they should help us with their donation. Please be our champion, and help us see it to the top! We can’t wait to celebrate the difference your generosity will make on May 4th.
