Emerald Ball Returns for 7th Year

January 23, 2018

The 7th annual Emerald Ball, a variety show fundraiser benefiting Pride Center San Antonio will once again take the stage at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, March 10th.

The event, organized by local photographer Julián P. Ledezma / JPL PRO, will feature some of the city’s top drag queens, singers, aerialists, the Live Oak singers and Chris Conde San Antonio’s own gay rapper. Tencha La Jefa will be returning as the hostess/emcee.

District 1 City Councilman Roberto C. Treviño and the board of Pride Center San Antonio announced on New Year’s Eve that the organization had found a permanent home just one block from the Main Avenue Strip.

The new space will be much larger than the shared administrative space that the Center currently occupies on North St. Mary’s Street. There will now be plenty of room to take walk-ins, conduct meetings and hold classes. The new location is in it’s final stages of renovations and is slated to open Spring 2018.

All proceeds from the Emerald Ball will go directly to the Pride Center’s efforts to open the new walk-in center.
