What is a Safe Zone?

A safe zone or a safe space is a place where all people feel safe, welcome and included.  It may be a room, a car, or an entire organization.  The Center’s Safe Zone Training aims to increase the awareness, knowledge, and skills for individuals and address the challenges that exist when one wants to advocate for their LGBTQ-

Creating safe zones or safe spaces is a proactive step that schools, agencies and corporations can take to create welcoming, inclusive spaces so that all people are empowered to reach their full potential.

About our Safe Zone Training

Safe Zone Training offered through The Center – Pride Center San Antonio can be customized to meet the needs of any organization. Our Safe Zone Training is a 4 hour workshop. This program is a dynamic, interactive session that includes activities and discussion around: 

This session will give participants the skills they need to provide support and to create environments that are safe, welcoming and inclusive. At the end of the class, participants receive a Safe Zone Certificate to display and create their own SafeZone.

How can I get trained?

Safe Zone Training is free to the public and offered on a regular basis. Please refer to our community calendar for future dates.

Can my business/organization request a private training?

Yes! The Center offers Safe Zone Training to non-profits, community groups, as well as for-profit businesses/corporations please complete the contact request for additional information about scheduling and rates.
