DESCRIPTION:With all the homophobia and transphobia and everything “phobia” going around\, and with the kind of emotional trauma the world has seen in the past 2 years\, it is completely understandable that we all are seeking connection\, both mentally\, physically\, emotionally and of course\, spiritually. \nQueer youth are no different. More than 1 in 4 LGBTQ+ youth identify with a religion. But sadly\, these young folx are often pressured to choose between their faith and the freedom to live and love authentically. \nAs part of PRIDE month\, June 30 has been dedicated to celebrate and support LGBTQ+ youth from all faith traditions – and we uphold the human right to believe\, to belong\, and to be loved. \nJoin us for what promises to be an awesome day of loving\, giving\, receiving\, accepting and affirming of our youth and the young at heart under one umbrella…FAITH! \nWho: LGBTQ+ Youth Ages 12-24\, The Young At Heart\, & Allied Communities of Faith \nWhen: Thursday\, June 30th from 4pm – 7pm \nWhere: Woodlawn Point\, Center for Community \nREGISTER ON EVENTBRITE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pray-the-shame-away-a-celebration-of-national-tickets-344930445247 \nKindly tell someone about this event\, bring a friend\, and share with your local faith community. DESCRIPTION:The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center is pleased to announce that we are hosting Queer Voices\, in celebration of Pride Month\, and in collaboration with the Pride Center SA to present a night of poetry\, entertainment\, food\, and drink on June 30\, starting at 6 PM at the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center 922 San Pedro\, San Antonio TX 78212. This is a free event.  but tickets can be reserved online at https://bit.ly/QueerVoices2022 \n  \nThe event starts at 6 PM with a Blessing Ceremony by SanArte Healing & Cultura Clinic and is hosted by Anel Flores and Chibbi. The show starts at 7 PM and ends at 9:30 PM.  \n  \nFestivities include:  \n\n A mini mercadito by Very That\n Featuring DJ De La O\n Poetry by Aminah Decé\, jo reyes-boitel\, and Space Dragn\n Music by Alyson Alonzo\, Nayam Cardenas-Lopez\, and Wayne Holtz\n Burlesque & Drag performances by Mx. Smokey Bear & Truly Vayne\n Food provided\n Drinks courtesy of Tasty Aguas Frescas\n\n  \nMasks are encouraged. \n  \nParking for this event will be available at San Antonio College parking lot #28 and at the Planned Parenthood parking lot at 920 San Pedro. A parking pass/permit for the dashboard is needed from Esperanza to avoid towing at Planned Parenthood.
