Give the gift of a SAFE SPACE

November 29, 2016

giving_tuesday_logostacked1Thanks to our wonderful donors, we have reached 5,720 community members through our Safe Zone Trainings, peer-to-peer support and social groups as well as PRIDE Families annual Easter Egg Hunt and Trunk-or-Treat. The Center has connected approximately 700 community members, by phone & email, to resources with other LGBTQ serving organizations.

To date, 2,593 San Antonians from 19 partnering agencies like the San Antonio Police Department Academy and Big Brothers & Big Sisters of South Texas have benefitted from our Safe Zone & Cultural Competency Trainings this year alone.

While this year had many successes we must remember our brothers and sisters lost to violence at the hands of hate. We were honored to lead San Antonio’s Orlando Vigil and the Transgender Day of Remembrance Memory Walk, that saw a combined attendance of over 1200 people that were able to connect and grieve.

Every day, your support gives us the opportunity to build new allies.

Today, on #GivingTuesday, we’re launching our 2016 Year-End Campaign. Our goal is to open a walk-in center in early 2017 that would allow us to expand our programming and services. Even though we have helped over 5,000 people this year, the fact remains that there are many more in need, additional resources would make this possible.

Our goal for this campaign is to have 100 new monthly sustaining donors by December 31st. If we have 100 people commit to $10.00 or more per month, we will be on our way to securing a physical location to operate a fully functioning walk-in center with regular hours. Having monthly sustaining donors will help us pay the rent!

Would you be willing to make a special year-end monthly donation commitment of $10, $25, $50 or whatever you can afford to help us meet our goal and give our LGBTQ+ community the resource center and safe space they deserve? The reality is we simply can’t do it without you. Your support will make a real, lasting impact for all of San Antonio.
