San Antonio, TX, June 30th, 2022 — LGBTQ+ Give Out Day 2022, taking place during June, is a month-long campaign dedicated to providing support to LGBT+ organizations across the United States. The Pride Center San Antonio is asking for community support during the month of June. Donations given during Give Out Day 2022 will help the center support the San Antonio LGBT+ community through programming, case management, peer support groups and more!

 Established in 2009, the San Antonio Pride Center filled a need for a center for LGBTQ+ needs were established. In 2012, the Pride Center San Antonio was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that boosted programming and support from the community. The Pride Center San Antonio has continued to expand its services by offering free case management services, group therapy, and family counseling.

 Supporting The Pride Center San Antonio will allow our local LGBTQ+ members to obtain life-saving resources. According to The Center’s Strengthening Colors of Pride Project, where we interviewed thousands of LGBTQ+ San Antonians:

• 54 % of transgender and non-binary people are unsure of where to find gender-affirming services in their area
• Less than half of essential resources such as HIV-testing, Support Groups, mental health resources, etc. are LGBTQ+ friendly in the San Antonio

The Pride Center provides necessary mental and emotional healthcare to the LGBT+ community:

• 30% of LGBTQ+ individuals are denied treatment and 
• 40% have been asked to seek treatment elsewhere due to negative stigmas

 The Pride Center San Antonio is a necessary resource center for the LGBTQ+ community. Give Out Day 2022 will assist with improving and expanding life-saving resources for individuals in San Antonio.

Pride Center San Antonio serves the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and HIV communities by connecting them and their families to community resources and organizations related to health, wellness, support, education, activities, and advocacy.
