Kids of All Ages Love Annual Easter Egg Hunt
LGBT families, some with pets in tow, will descend upon Olmos Basin Park on March 20 for an afternoon of hot dogs, burgers, games, an Easter egg hunt and a visit by the Easter Bunny.
The event, the 4th Annual LGBTQ Community Easter Egg Hunt, is organized by Pride Center SA’s Pride Families, a social group for LGBT parents.
Other participating organizations include Equality Texas, Fiesta Youth, HRC San Antonio, Orgullo de San Antonio LGBT LULAC Council, PFLAG San Antonio, and the San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce and San Antonio Gender Association (SAGA).
Organizers with Pride Families say events like this one allow LGBT and ally families to meet others with kids and helps them form lasting relationships and networks.
The event announcement encourages everyone to invite their friends who have children.
Food, chips and drinks will be served at 1 p.m. and the Easter egg hunt begins at 3 p.m. There will be plenty of activities for the kids. The event is free but organizers ask you to RSVP so they have enough food for everybody.
