Today, is #GivingTuesday, an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in unity–to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and heal. A day dedicated to give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
In March, for the first time since The Center opened, we temporarily closed our doors for the safety of our beloved community, created a “Virtual Center” and implemented an online presence for programming. We have offered various mindfulness activities, peer-to-peer support groups for LGBTQ+ adults and our youth, and just recently added tele-health counseling services. We also immediately launched an LGBTQ+ Community Emergency Fund as a way to fill a gap for some of our most vulnerable community members who are experiencing job losses and financial hardships. To-date, we have distributed over $10,000 to help 43 LGBTQ+ individuals and families.
We were able to do this without reducing our amazing staff or ending life-affirming programs. We are asking for your support of The Center so we can continue our virtual services, education, and being that important lifesaving information hub to our community.
Please consider a donation to help support The Center as we support the LGBTQ+ community today and every day. We will get through this TOGETHER.
In resilience,
The Pride Center Team
