The Center Announces 2019 Icon’s Brunch & Awards

San Antonio, Texas – From the icons of the Stonewall Riots of 1969, Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson, to San Antonio’s icons, The Center will honor those that have helped advance and empower the LGBTQ+ community.

On Sunday, June 2, 2019, our annual Icon’s Brunch tradition begins in San Antonio, celebrating 8-years of community service and our first year in our walk-in center. The brunch will be one of the largest and most exciting annual events supporting the LGBTQ+ community resource center. Funds raised directly support The Center’s year-round programming and services.

Replacing our annual New Year’s Eve celebration, The Center’s Icon’s Brunch allows us to have an even more inclusive event for everyone in the community at the beautiful Pearl Stables. The Center will present five Icon Awards to exemplary members of the community for their outstanding contributions to the LGBTQ+ community. Our 2019 Icon’s Brunch honorees will include: Community Icon, Leadership Icon, Legacy Icon, Media Icon and a Political Icon. Community nominations for these awards are now open through February 1, 2019.

With an 8-year history of serving the greater South Texas LGBTQ+ community, The Center is saving lives every single day and remains one of the most well-respected and relevant non-profit organizations in San Antonio. The Icon’s Brunch is an extraordinary community celebration not to be missed, a must-attend celebration and fundraiser for the community.
