This past weekend we had an exciting opportunity to engage community leaders, community members, and organizations throughout San Antonio that serve the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities. Part of our conversation centered around the question, “We need a LGBTQ Community Resource Center because…”
We shared the results from our 2015 community engagement sessions and board retreat that helped shape and develop our 2015 – 2020 Strategic Plan. We also discussed the projects and events The Center has had over the past year.
While I’m excited about our recent Leadership Summit and passionate about the work we do at Pride Center San Antonio, there’s something else that’s got me smiling. On, May 3rd, tens of thousands of area residents are going to show their support for their favorite nonprofit during The Big Give SA.
On May 3rd, every donation you give will go a long way to helping us increase the programming that we offer to the community. In addition, it will help support a staffed walk-in center in 2016.
What really has me excited is that this is going to be a big event, and everyone will be talking about whom they’re supporting. This is made even more important by the fact that you can tell people how you are supporting us.
