San Antonio’s Thrive Youth Center provides housing, outreach to homeless LGBT youths.

Robert Salcido, an executive board member for the Pride Center of San Antonio, a resource and referral center for LGBT-related matters and services, said Thrive is a welcome addition to the South Texas community and has an excellent setup thanks to its proximity at Haven for Hope. The Pride Center has been able to refer one transgender individual to Thrive, and will continue working with the organization in the future, he said.

“Thrive now has access to [resources] they wouldn’t necessarily have had access to as a stand-alone organization with the Methodist church,” Salcido said.
